Calex is delighted to report that it has achieved a ‘Good’ rating following an Ofsted inspection of its provision undertaken in December 2021.
The inspection, focussed on all aspects of Calex’s apprenticeship training provision, which includes dedicated manufacturer programmes for partners including Stellantis and Volvo Cars UK.
At the time of the inspection, there were 461 apprentices studying 10 different apprenticeship standards at levels 2 and 3, across a range of technical, commercial, business, and digital specialisms.
Calex work with just over 200 different employers across England, and delivers training via its state-of-the-art manufacturer partner training facilities.
Ofsted inspectors found several strengths, including the way that apprentices quickly transfer new skills, knowledge and behaviours to their workplace, as well as the very effective individualised support they receive from staff.
Chris Newton, Head of Apprenticeships at Calex said: “We’re absolutely delighted by the outcome, especially given the challenges of the past 2 years in which we have worked really hard to ensure training can continue in light of the Covid restrictions”.
“I want to say a big thank you to the team who have contributed so much, and for the personal approach that they have taken to ensure that every one of our apprentices has been able to continue to receive their training and maintain their development”.
“We had invested significantly pre-pandemic in new learning technologies, and so in many ways were prepared for a change in approach. However, the way that the team have adapted and responded so positively is really reflected in this outcome”.
“We’re so lucky to work in a sector that places so much value in apprenticeships, and to work with such excellent manufacturer partners and employers who have invested so positively in their respective training facilities, resource and equipment”.
David Miell-Ingram, Calex UK Managing Director said “I want to thank the team for their hard work and dedication which has contributed so positively to this outcome”.
“They have shown fantastic resolve, flexibility, and commitment to their learners during a really challenging time, and this result is a reward for them”.
“Every one of our programmes has been carefully put together to ensure that apprentices develop the skills and behaviours that they need to thrive in their roles, and I am delighted that Ofsted have recognised this”.
The full report will be published on the Ofsted website shortly.
